I am currently reading Leviathan by Thomas Hobbes.
You may think it's all about political theory, but in reality it talks a lot about philosophy and human nature with a Christian perspective.
What is speech? How do people develop reason? On what are our perceptions and emotions are based?
Frankly, it's really interesting to read, especially about emotions.
For example, I came across jealousy, which he defines as "Love of one sigularly ... with fear that the love is not mutual."
Do you agree with it?
Many of his definitions of emotions and perceptions, I find them very true if not interestingly debatable, considering the fact that the book was written in mid-17th century during which there wasn't an official dictionary or contemporary philosophical definitions of these emotions.
Check it out if you are curious with what kinds of emotions he defined. You might be surprised to be in agreement with him.
